THIRD LETTER

Our GOD is infinitely gracious and knows all our wants. It always seemed like He would put you to extremes. He’ll come when you least expect it. Believe in Him more than ever; be thankful to Him for all the favors he bestows on you, and especially for the fortitude and patience He has shown you in your affliction. It’s a sign that He cares for you. Take comfort in Him, and give thanks for everything.

I admire the fortitude and bravery of Mr. —-. The Lord has given him a right disposition and a good will; but he still has a bit of the world in him and a lot of youth. It is my prayer that the affliction God sent will be a wholesome remedy for him, and help him grow. It’s paramount for him to trust the One who is always with him regardless of the circumstances. Think of Him all the time, especially when things get tough. He just needs to lift his heart a bit. Even when a soldier’s on the march and with a sword in hand, the remembrance of GOD and regular worship are very acceptable prayers to GOD; and far from lowering courage in times of danger, they can actually build it.

Let him think of GOD as much as he can. He’ll get used to this small but holy exercise over time. No one will notice, and you can do it as many times as you want during the day.

He should think of GOD as much as he can, as suggested here. This is an essential item for a soldier, who is constantly exposed to danger. He and his family are in my thoughts and prayers, as I present my service to them and to you.
